In triangle ABC, right-angled at B, if tan A = 1/√3 find the value of (i) sin A cos C + cos A sin C (ii) cos A cos C – sin A sin C.

Solution:

⇨ Given
⇨ tan A = 1/√3 = p/b
⇨ Therefore p = BC = 1 , b = AB = √3, h = AC = ?
⇨ In △ ABC
Exercise 8.1 9.In triangle ABC, right-angled at B, if tan A = 1/√3 find the value of (i) sin A cos C + cos A sin C (ii) cos A cos C – sin A sin C
⇨ From Pythagoras Theorem

(i) sin A cos C + cos A sin C

(ii) cos A cos C – sin A sin C
